Jose Antonio Reyes dies in traffic Accident at age 35yrs
The former Sevilla, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid striker has died at the age of 35 after being involved in a traffic accident in the city of Seville.
His cousins Jonathan Reyes and Juan Manuel Calderon were travelling with the player and have also died.
Reyes came through the Sevilla academy to become the Andalusian club's youngest ever player in the Spanish league before embarking on a career that saw him travel around the world and also feature for Spain.
Most recently, he was signed by Extremadura towards the end of the 2018/19 season.
"This is the worst news,"
A Sevilla statement said on Saturday afternoon.
"Our beloved academy graduate Jose Antonio Reyes has died in a traffic accident.
"Rest in peace."
